Born in 1929 in Utrecht, died in 2008 there.

Education: Kuik was educated at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. She lived and worked in Utrecht all her life.

Born William Diederich Kuik, Dirkje has been a woman since 1979. She painted and etched cityscapes, landscapes, figures and portraits. Kuik founded the Graphic Society De Luis together with JH Moesman and Henc van Maarseveen. She was also a member of the Kunstliefde art society. Fearing that a persistent eye infection would end her painting and drawing work, Kuik wrote novels and poems, for which she has received several prizes. She was also an art critic for Het Parool.

Exhibitions and prizes:

After her death, Kunstliefde organized a triptych exhibition about Dirkje Kuik, and her former home was turned into a museum. She has received several awards for her literary work.
