Standing in the romantic tradition of Northern European painting, this painter of the Dutch landscape has developed a unique visual language over the years. He is not concerned with a "literal" representation of that landscape with its wide vistas and high skies, but with a personal processing of this.

The synthesis of an expressionistic and informal approach to his subjects leads to abstractions, which are partly the result of an extremely intensive working method. By applying layer upon layer, by scraping away and touching up, paintings in oil are created, which time and again evoke new and surprising images in the attentive viewer.

These are works that – no matter how small in size – convincingly and impressively demonstrate the monumentality of the subjects he has processed in his own way”.
