Education: Herman Berserik was educated at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.. The Hague
Herman (Hermanus) Berserik has lived in Rijswijk for many years (from 1960 to 1986) of his life. But despite this, Berserik was unmistakably part of the art world in The Hague, including as a teacher at the Hague Academy of Art from 1958 to 1978 and as an active member of the painting society ?Pulchri Studio? Berserik's contributions to the Pulchri magazine were especially widely read. because they contain practical tips about the painting profession. In addition, Herman Berserik worked as an illustrator. Berserik made hundreds of pocket covers for Salamander and Stork. Herman Berserik traveled to ao North Africa, Syria and Lebanon. Herman Berserik received the royal subsidy in 1948 and 1949. Herman Berserik leaves behind a rich collection of paintings: Berserik's love for light and water can be recognized in his work in the Shape of Ships, Bridges, Locks. He also painted landscapes, still lifes, cyclists, dolls, toys and bottles, self-portraits and cityscapes
