Jacqueline de JONG (Hengelo 1939 - Amsterdam 2024)
Sculptor, painter, graphic artist
Education: At the end of 1960, Jacqueline de Jong took lessons in Stanley Hayter's graphic studio in Paris to learn etching.
De Jong works alternately in the Netherlands and France.
The work of Jacqueline de Jong makes it clear that reality and imagination cannot exist without each other. In her work, art is a situation in which past and present are congruent. Images from the past are reused to further develop and renew them in different techniques. Her work, which is often done in bright colors, consists of paintings, objects, graphics, posters and images. In 1962 she had her first exhibition at Galerie Delta, and subsequently exhibited in America, France, Switzerland and Scandinavia. In 1984, De Jong was commissioned to realize the elevator and stairwells of the Amsterdam Stopera. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions.
