Jos van den BERG (Den Helder 1905 - The Hague 1978)
Jos van den Berg was initially very handicapped due to his dwarf stature. Very good friends with Joop Kropff who had a great influence on his work.
Painter, draftsman and etcher of portraits, figural motifs (including nudes), still lifes and landscapes in realistic style
In 1956 he received the Jacob Hartog prize. Member of Pulchri Studio since 1935 and the Haagse Kunstkring
Matta studied at the Rotterdam Academy, The Hague Academy and the Free Academy Charles Blanc in Paris.
