Shepard FAIREY (Charleston 1970)

American street artist, graphic designer, activist and illustrator who emerged from the skate board scene. He is best known for his Andre the Giant Has a Posse" (…OBEY…) sticker campaign.

He gained worldwide fame during America's 2008 presidential election for his Barack Obama "Hope" poster. The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston calls him one of the most famous and influential street artists. His work hangs in the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
