Jehan BERJONNEAU (Montmorillon, December 26, 1890, December 23, 1966 in Paris) was a French painter. Self-taught, born into a modest peasant family. At the age of 18 he goes to the Academie Julian in Paris where he only lasts a year. He gains some fame for his characteristic Provence landscapes between the two wars. He traveled and worked in Europe, North Africa and the United States. From 1919-1935, in Montmorillon, his hometown, he regularly organizes exhibitions at the regional museum of modern art. He was a prominent member of the French Artists' Association, the Independents, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries.
