Founded in 1952. The group became world famous in the 1950s. The group consisted of Milt Jackson, John Lewis, Percy Heath and Kenny Clarke. Clarke was replaced by Connie Kay in 1955. Officially, the group continued until 1974, but came together a few more times after that for performances.
