Cubism

Cubism is a movement within the modern art of the 20th century. Cubism was innovative because it worked with a different perspective. Different sides of the same object are depicted in Cubist works. Multiple viewpoints were created on the canvas, leading to the sense of depth when looking at the work. At the same time, the work enters the viewer's space. A cubist work appears abstract and geometric, but it depicts existing objects. The tension between the three-dimensional on the two-dimensional canvas therefore plays a major role in Cubism. In addition, the decorative qualities that played a role in the other avant-garde arts were also rejected.
