Large winter landscape by the Belgian artist Albert Saverys (1886-1964) "Leie view in Deinze" Lb Copyright Dietrich & Co Brussels Lo 200/350 Ro Savery
Framed with passe-partout, behind glass dimensions. Frame 90x80cm
Albert Saverys (Deinze, May 12, 1886 - Petegem, April 29, 1964) was one of the most prominent Belgian painters of the interwar period. Saverys is often associated with the third Latem group, but strictly speaking it does not belong to it. Saverys underwent numerous influences, but incorporated them into his own nervous brushwork, which was inspired by Van Gogh and luminism between 1914 and 1922, and which, through its fluidity, richness of color and apparently loose composition, is reminiscent of the equally voluminous oeuvre of his contemporary, the French fauvist Maurice de Vlaminck, whom he knew personally.
