Alfred Joseph Auguste van Neste (Bruges, March 4, 1874 – Sint-Genesius-Rode, March 8, 1969) was a Belgian painter, engraver, landscape painter, illustrator and designer of posters and book bindings. He was born in Bruges and was a son of watchmaker August van Neste and Virginie Zwaenepoel. He was a cousin of Hendrik Pickery and a cousin and student of Florimond van Acker (1858-1940). He trained at the art academies of Bruges and Antwerp and later became a teacher there. He painted picturesque spots in Bruges and Antwerp and also did so in Brittany and Venice. He designed images for processions. He became Antwerp's most famous poster designer and also made designs for stamps, costumes and books.
