Special screen print by Annemarie de Groot

The artwork is signed and numbered EA.
EA stands for Épreuve d'Artiste, often also referred to as AP (Artist Proof).
These abbreviations are used to indicate the copies printed in addition to the planned print run.
They do not differ in any way from the other numbered copies.
In principle they are intended for the artist or printer themselves and often form part of the fee.
Of course, they can also be marketed.
Some collectors attach more (emotional) value to an EA and AP because they assume that they come from the hands of the master himself.

EA's, AP's and HC's are in principle no better or worse than regular edition copies .

Printed on heavy cardboard-like paper with a small square embossing/dry stamp at the bottom right (see detail photo).

Annemarie de Groot lives and works in Groningen, where she also graduated in 1978 from the Minerva Academy in Groningen.
She subsequently trained at the Kokoschka Schule in Salzburg.
Annemarie de Groot is inspired by circus, theatre, festivals and cabaret, which is also reflected in her work
Her artworks are filled with musicians, animals and ballerinas, creating a 1920s atmosphere.
In addition to this type of work, Annemarie de Groot – a student of Corneille – also makes more expressionistic nudes, such as this work on offer, landscapes and still lifes.

Her work has been exhibited in New York, Sweden, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Germany , among others.

This silkscreen print was hand-printed by master silkscreen printer Wout van der Vet, numbered and signed in pencil by Annemarie de Groot.
During his career, Woutvan der Vet has collaborated with a large number of national and international artists.
In the December 1987 issue of the glossy fashion magazine Elegance, with a circulation of no less than 100,000 copies, an original work of art was packaged.
99 artists designed 148 different works of art together and one artist even produced 1,000 original works, making a total of 100,000.
The project is a world record and has been registered with the Guinness Book of Records.

This print by Annemarie de Groot was part of the Elegance campaign, with 99 copies.
