Oil on canvas 130x90, signed lower right Barbara Wijnveld and dated 1992, in a beautiful frame. Barbara Wijnveld, born 1972 in Arnhem. From 1991 she follows the Free Art department at the ArtEZ art academy in Arnhem. There she practices and skills, in addition to painting and drawing, in various diverse media, such as graphic techniques and sculpting. In 1995 she graduated with paintings and wall drawings. In 1996 she left for Groningen to study for 2 years at the new second phase painting course of the Frank Mohr Institute. During this period she creates artworks on location and develops her painting style. During this education she resides in New York in 1997 and follows the Master of Fine Arts Program at Hunter College CUNY. Her graduation work consisted of a spatial floor installation with drawings and paintings. In September 1998 she leaves for Amsterdam to participate in the art institute: de Ateliers, Amsterdam where internationally renowned artists including Marlene Dumas, Jan Dibbets, Rob Birza and Steve McQueen supervise her. Here her painting style became more and more specific. Her final presentation consisted of the first series of large self-images from 1999-2000 entitled: Fascinans od During and after her studies she receives various study and travel grants and stipends from, among others, the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and the Fonds BKVB in Amsterdam. In 1996 she is selected for the Art Primeur 1996. In 1998 and 2000 she received the Buning Brongers Prize. In 2004 she received the Royal Award for Free Painting from Queen Beatrix. Various nominations including longlist Prix de Rome painting in 1999 and longlist Prix de Rome.nl in 2005. Since 1999 solo and group exhibitions in the Netherlands and the United States and (solo) presentations at art fairs. In 2009 she has her first museum solo exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art Arnhem. Her work is owned by various corporate and private collections. Barbara Wijnveld is represented by "Bart" in Amsterdam.
Painting is located in Beerse (near Turnhout), shipping with Postnl or Bpost is not possible due to the size. Can be picked up in Alblasserdam (Netherlands) after a good appointment.
