Dick Berendes (Heerhugowaard, 1942), typographer, graphic artist and letter artist.
-Education: Amsterdam Graphic School.
After his education he started as a typesetter/printer. After several years of practical experience, he continued as a graphic designer and he also discovered the artistic possibilities of the old printing trade.
Dick Berendes has 3 sources of inspiration: letters, nature, and the Groningen printer/artist Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman (1882-1945).
With a combination of the printing press and digital techniques he created his graphic work: ' Typography '. Quote: “Whoever likes poems has an affinity with the work of Dick Berendes, because typography is actually visual poems!”.
