Eduard Stoffels (1874-1951). Dutch landscape with mill. Oil paint on panel. Signed. Beautiful impressionist landscape from the Hague school. The painting has diagonal age crackle in the panel. Dimensions without frame 17x27 Including frame 23x33 cm.

Eduard Stoffels (1874 Hoorn-1951 Nieuwer-Amstel). Eduard was educated at the Drawing School for Arts and Crafts in Amsterdam. Already around 1895, like Breitner, he traveled through Amsterdam with a camera to make paintings from the photos. During his military service, he and his cousin Hendrik Hengeveld (1861 Elburg-1927 Utrecht) founded a studio for pottery art, first in Amsterdam, later in Amersfoort. Ultimately, nothing came of a plan to move the studio to the United States, due to great success in that country. Eduard did set up his own factory in Amersfoort, the Ereprijs, which, however, went up in flames after a short time (1908). After his return to Amsterdam, Eduard painted on a small scale for sale.
