Characteristic, geometric abstract work from 1980 by Herman de Vries. Silkscreen on very thick paper, signed and numbered (54/100) in pencil on the back and with the well-known stamp of a hare. In very good condition.

Dimensions: 70cm x 70cm

The starting point of this silkscreen print: investigating the systematic coincidence in reality in an artistic and philosophical way.

Plate V74-63S consists of two grids of squares, one perpendicular to the sheet and the other in a random direction (sources of the randomness: table XXXIII in: Fisher & Yates – Statistical Tables for Biological, Agricultural and Medical Research, London, 1953).

The sheet was created primarily to observe the relationship between a few elements-restricted-to-solid-structures. The creation of an optical effect was not sought.

This item is strongly preferred to be picked up (due to the thickness of the paper, the work cannot be sent in a tube). Shipping by courier is possible and can be arranged by the buyer with a courier of his/her choice (for example with Swift Couriers via the Kunstveiling website).
When purchasing, a work of art can always be picked up, but by appointment, in Diemen (near Amsterdam, a few minutes from the A10 ring road). The collection period is very long; you can possibly pick up the work weeks or even months later and, if possible, combine it with a visit to (the) Amsterdam area for other matters. In that case you will, of course, save any shipping costs.
