Heijden, Johannes Cornelis (Jan) van der Heijden is geboren op 21 september 1911 te Leiden en overleden in 1992 te Delfgauw. Hij woonde en werkte in Den Haag, Enkhuizen en Delfgauw (gem Pijnacker). Leerling van de Akademie vooe B.K. in Den Haag. Schilderde, aquarelleerde en tekende landschappen, stillevens en modellen. Is enige jaren lid geweest van 'Pulchri Studio' in Den Haag. Heeft vooral bekendheid gekregen door zijn vele polderlandschappen die gretig aftrek hadden in de kunsthandel in Nederland, maar ook in het buitenland.
