Jan Voerman Jr. (Hattem, January 23, 1890 – Blaricum, June 13, 1976) was a Dutch draftsman, painter, illustrator and lithographer. Jan Voerman was the son of Jan Voerman Sr. In 1905, Voerman Jr. received his first official assignment from his grandfather Verkade of the company of the same name to make drawings for a nature album. He worked together with the author Jac. P. Thijsse and, among others, the visual artists Ludwig Wenckebach, Jan van Oort and Henricus Rol on 27 Verkade albums. This was put to an end by the outbreak of the Second World War.[1] Voerman Jr. followed training at the Rijksa Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam and at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. In 1923 he married Hetty Mansholt and moved to Overveen where he became known as a lithographer. In 1932 he moved to Blaricum. Voerman was appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau in 1975. He died in June 1976 at the age of 86 in Blaricum. Several of his works belong to the collection of the Voerman Museum Hattem.
