Karl Korab (*26 April 1937 in Falkenstein, Lower Austria) is an Austrian visual artist. His works are characterized by the subtle combination of painted and collaged elements. Inspired by real and imaginary environments, Korab focused mainly on landscapes. He studied from 1957 to 1964 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Sergius Pauser1. Korab is versatile and creates oil paintings, graphics, collages, screen prints and lithographs. His works include still lifes and landscape paintings, and he has also worked as a stage designer. You can find his art on Austrian stamps. The artist lives and works in Sonndorf, a transitional landscape between the Weinviertel and the Waldviertel. He is the father of four sons1. He has received recognition including the Culture Prize of the State of Lower Austria (1972) and the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the State of Lower Austria (2012)1.
