Krin Rinsema (Meppel, 1947) prefers to make etchings. She uses aluminum offset plates for this, which she gets from the local printer. After six or seven prints, the plate is worn out. Body language is a fascination for me. A man with a ‘worried’ walk can fascinate me and I feel related to vulnerable people. Self-confident people don’t matter to me.”
Krin expresses herself best in black, black printing ink or charcoal are her preference. Color distracts, because that is not what it is about. Like a true alchemist, Krin constantly experiments with combining different techniques. With the aim of giving her work the right emotionality.
