Marta Jedrysko (1959) works with a dazzling selection of bright and warm colors. When these colors appear on the canvas, the viewer experiences an explosion of life. Those who are present in a space with Marta's work feel like they are in a summer dream.

Marta completed the art academy in Kraków (Poland) with honors in 1983 and moved to the Netherlands in 1985. Although her style has clearly changed over the years from abstract expressionism to a warm, almost impressionistic style, it is neither Polish nor Dutch. She expresses her personal feelings in an abstract manner, but does not improvise, regularly draws very realistically and in recent years has increasingly shown herself to be a master of colorful portraits. Areas of color bring peace to the composition and emphasize the facial features of Marta's sources of inspiration.

After Marta has applied her drawings and color areas in oil paint to the canvas, the painting is varnished with a liquid gloss layer. The idea for such a treatment arose during her studies. After many years, her wish to capture other materials besides oil paint between the canvas and the glossy coating has recently come true.

Her inspiration often comes from everyday things such as a still life, flowers, human or animal figures. From this starting point she abstracts the object into her inner world by coloring and shaping reality to her own taste. Marta paints with a fluid touch, making the painting a moving experience to look at. An original fruit bowl becomes a sea of emotions and the otherwise hard-lined reality changes into streams of feelings.

Marta's artistry is a growing process, in which new ideas are fueled by new experiences, production options and materials.
