Ottograph (Otto Kruijsen) Ottograph a large-scale street art painter from Amsterdam. Ottograph's artistic life began when he was 10 years old. With spray cans in hand, he 'freshened up' walls in Amstelveen, the village where he grew up. Later he switched to the train and metro and became a big name in the region. Otto also studied for a short period at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. His first exhibition in the city in 1993 was a great success; the innovative nature of his work was noticeable and respected. He invested in a computer and a drawing program, and soon after his first assignments for advertising campaigns for some leading companies came pouring in. Ottograph has worked for major brands including Ford, Mars, Mercedes, Nike, Playboy, Quote and Fanta. Highlights: The Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp (Belgium) is home to a gigantic Ottoman mural. Otto has also painted murals in Moscow, Tokyo, Berlin, New York and San Francisco. Ottograph’s contribution to street art extends beyond his own work, as he is also a community leader. He has organised several cooperative painting commissions and runs the website ‘I Paint Everyday’ to encourage the tedious but necessary practice of serious painting. Ottograph created Amsterdam’s first truly 24/7 outdoor street art gallery on Wijdesteeg, which became a huge hit on Instagram #wijdesteeg. In the spring of 2019, Ottograph started painting his self-portrait on the walls of Amsterdam. Recently Otto painted an entire house in New York, and 3 murals in Lagos Nigeria. In 2022 Ottograph created a giant mural for the Straatmuseum in Amsterdam. Ottograph is currently busy converting an entire office building in Amsterdam East into one gigantic work of art. He is painting both the inside and the outside of the building.
