Radovan Kragulj was born in 1934 in Prijedor, Yugoslavia, (now Bosnia); studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London; taught at Manchester College of Art, the London College of Printing, the Ecoles des Beaux Arts in Bergen and Brussels, and at Parsons School of Art in New York; since his first visit to Wales in the early 1970s, where he owned a cottage outside Builth Wells, much of his work has concerned intensive livestock farming, particularly meat and milk production; married the art historian Nena Radovanovic in Builth Wells in 1985; divided his life and work between Paris and Wales; died in Paris on 28 July 2022 at the age of 87.
