Beautiful watercolor by the internationally renowned painter René de Jong, manufactured in 1977 during its first abstract period (1974 – 1982). The work depicts the natural impressions he gained after a stay in Sussex. This watercolor is in an aluminum frame made by the artist with solid museum glass (museum glass renewed in 2019). René de Jong received his training at the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam (1971-1976) and 's-Hertogenbosch (1989). As a full-time artist, De Jong can boast of an impressive list of exhibitions at home and abroad. He exhibited extensively in The Hague, Tunis and Paris. His works can be found in many corporate and private collections. In 2008, after a three-year ballot, René de Jong became a member of the oldest French artists' association 'La Société des Artistes Français' in Paris. He gained recognition through the awards he has acquired, especially in France: Le Prix de la Presse du Salon de Prestige, L'Argentière La Bessée 2013. The medal of the vermeil of the Salon de Prestige, Lyon 2012. La médaille de bronze du Salon d'Hiver, Paris 2002. Le prix du Conseil Général de la Seine Saint-Denis, Le Bourget 1990. The artist is still active in his studio in Dordrecht to this day. Documentation: National Office for Art Historical Documentation, The Hague ARTindex, Tilburg | |
