Rob Houdijk (1950) studied free painting at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. He picked up modelling again after his time at the academy. Bronzes, both large and small, form an integral part of his work, in which people in their environment and humans and animals in their interaction are central. Rob Houdijk works in traditional techniques (charcoal, pen and ink, oil paint, pastel, watercolour, clay and wax). Although figuration always remains the starting point, a tendency towards slightly abstracting is noticeable everywhere.
