Siet Zuyderland became known in the seventies through his exhibitions - among others in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam - of prison paintings (1974) and his paintings of metro stations (1978). Siet Zuyderland, whose most famous works are his series of prison doors and metro stations from the seventies and eighties. Both series were shown at the time in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
