For Chinese sculptor Zhang Yong, working in his spacious studio is 'like swimming across a fast-flowing river'. A beautiful metaphor for a young, passionate artist who always puts people at the centre of his work.

Man, in all his nakedness, with all his loneliness and contemplation. Zhang Yong's bronze sculptures are burned into your retina after one encounter. Is it because of Zhang Yong's 'signature' that is so unique and personal? Because of the subdued and earthy colours that are just as striking as the form and subjects of his sculptures?

Zhang Yong has built up an impressive oeuvre. In 2007 he established his name at the Annual International Exhibition of Sculptures in Shanghai. This was followed by solo exhibitions at important 'art hot spots' in China, such as the Yinchuan Contemporary Art Museum and the Epoch Art Museum in Whenzou.

In 2013, Galerie Kunstbroeders discovered Zhang Yong and brought his works to Europe. An introduction with beautiful consequences.
Zhang Yong has now been shown in many countries at fairs and exhibitions including Zandvoorts Museum and Contemporary Art Museum Villa Friede Bonnen and collectors have embraced him and his sculptures.
