Lefteris Olympios is an artist from Cyprus who enjoys great fame there. He has also exhibited several times in the Netherlands and lived for a while.
Olympios came to the Netherlands in 1984, but in his work he is still very much concerned with the fate of his torn country. He hopes that the God of the Greeks and of the Turks on the divided island will soften their hearts, so that the union of the two peoples will become a fact. Olympios incorporates a mixture of political and religious themes in his work.
