Paul Emile Berthon (1872-1909)

Paul Emile Berthon (1872-1909)

Paul Emile BERTHON (1872-1909) was a French artist who mainly designed posters and lithographs in the Art Nouveau style, as did Alphonse Mucha. Berthon studied to be a painter in Villefranche before going to Paris. Later he went to the Ecole Normale d'Enseignement de Dessin and was taught by Luc-Olivier Merson. Most of Berthon's lithograph posters have no advertisements and had a neutral image. Paul Berthon's graphic work consists of 94 original lithographs. Two thirds of those lithographs, according to Paul Berthon, consist of lithographs called Panneaux Decoratifs.Bon ; rkd , wikipedia , benezit
