- Peter de Rijcke (Zeist, January 4, 1945 - Hoorn, August 25, 2022) was a painter, graphic artist, photographer and writer. He graduated from the Rietveld Academy in the 1960s.
In 1972 he moved to Hoorn, where he developed a recognizable figurative painting style with a specialization in maritime subjects such as harbor views and coastal landscapes. In 2009 and 2010 Peter de Rijcke worked in Zaandam on the project 'In the footsteps of Monet'. He returned to the locations in Zaandam where Claude Monet found his inspiration in 1871 and painted those locations as they look now. In 2010 he worked with Chinese fellow painters for three weeks at locations in China.
